I’m a registered practical nurse, mom, surrogate, and lifelong Kawartha Lakes resident. I’m running to represent Ward 5 because I believe our community deserves practical solutions, responsible decision-making, and a councillor who listens.
Advocating for Our Community
I see the challenges facing families in our community every day — both through my work as a nurse and as a parent.
We’re dealing with long emergency-room waits, speeding in our neighbourhoods, rising costs, and growing pressure on the services we all rely on.
I’m running for Ward 5 Councillor because I believe we need practical, common-sense solutions and someone who is willing to listen to residents, ask the tough questions, and work toward real results.

Residents Deserve to Be Heard
I’ve called Kawartha Lakes home my entire life. This is where I grew up, built my career, raised my family, and became part of the community.
My grandpa and dad are well known in the local hockey community, and I grew up understanding the importance of showing up for your neighbours and giving back to the community you call home.
That connection is a big part of why I’m running. I care deeply about where we live, and I want to help make sure Kawartha Lakes continues to be a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
There are issues in our community that I believe we need to tackle.
From speeding on our streets and rising costs to access to healthcare and how we use our tax dollars, these are issues that affect people in their everyday lives.
I’m not running with the idea that every problem has an easy answer. I’m running because I believe we need to ask the right questions, look at the facts, listen to residents, and find practical solutions that make sense for our community.
I believe good local government starts with listening.
Residents should have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect their everyday lives. You deserve to know what’s being proposed, have an opportunity to share your concerns, and know that someone at the Council table is bringing your perspective forward.
I’m not a career politician. I’m a working nurse and parent who cares deeply about our community. I’m ready to bring a practical, community-first perspective to City Council.
My Priorities
Safer Streets
Too many of our neighbourhoods are dealing with excessive speeding, and I hear the concerns of residents who want their streets to be safer.
I’ll push for practical traffic-calming measures where they are needed most, including options such as additional stop signs, speed bumps, and other appropriate measures.
Kids, seniors, pedestrians, cyclists, and families should all feel safe in their own neighbourhoods.
Fair Taxes for Permanent Residents
Permanent residents live, work, raise families, and invest in our community every day, while also supporting the services that make Kawartha Lakes such a great place to live. I know families are feeling the pressure of rising property taxes, and with increases of around 7% each year, I believe we need to take a closer look at how we can manage that burden.
I’ll analyze our current tax base, including the impact of new builds and development, to better understand how growth can help offset costs and where there are opportunities to reduce the pressure of annual property tax increases.
Smarter Policing. Better Value
Kawartha Lakes currently has both the Kawartha Lakes Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police serving different areas of our municipality.
I believe residents deserve a clear and independent look at whether we can deliver these services more efficiently.
I’ll call for an independent examination of options, including potential amalgamation or deeper shared services, while keeping public safety at the centre of the conversation.
My goal is simple: better value for taxpayers without compromising the safety of our communities.
Food Co-op Feasibility
Access to affordable, local food matters to families.
I’ll support a practical feasibility study for a community food co-op so we can explore what is actually possible for our community.
Before making promises, I believe we need to understand the costs, opportunities, and long-term sustainability of a local model.
If we can create an option that makes affordable food more accessible while supporting local producers and keeping more dollars in our community, I believe it’s worth exploring.
Non-Emergancy Clinic Hours
As a nurse, I see the strain on our healthcare system and understand how important it is for people to have somewhere to turn when they need care.
I’ll advocate for expanded access to non-emergency care, including exploring a clinic model open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Having a reliable option for non-life-threatening medical concerns could help residents get the care they need while allowing Ross Memorial’s emergency department to focus on true emergencies.

I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work for our community.
